iPhone and Apple Watch users will soon have the ability to unlock and start select Volvo, Polestar, and Audi vehicles using their devices. This expansion of Apple's digital car key support comes after the feature was previously introduced for brands like Kia, BMW, Lotus, and others.
How Does it Work?
With the digital car key feature, you can simply hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the vehicle's NFC reader to access, lock, or start it. The Wallet app needs to be running in the background or foreground, but no additional button presses are required.
