How to Use Claude’s Reflect Dashboard (And Know When It's Time to Touch Grass)

Claude is an incredible productivity engine, but tumbling down the generative AI rabbit hole can quickly eat up your day. To help manage your digital habits, Anthropic rolled out Reflect—a dashboard built into Claude’s settings that acts like a cross between Spotify Wrapped and Apple’s Screen Time.

Here is how you can use the Reflect dashboard to put guardrails on your Claude usage, build smarter prompting habits, and know exactly when it's time to step away from the keyboard.

Generating Your First Reflect Report

Before you can set boundaries, you need to pull up your dashboard. Reflect generates summaries of your conversations over the past 1, 3, 6, or 12 months.

1.Open Claude:

Navigate to claude.ai in your browser.

2.Access Settings:

Click on your name and profile photo, then select Settings.

3.Open Reflect:

Select Reflect from the menu. Claude will take a moment to generate your initial conversation summary.

Note on "Time Spent": If you click the Time spent tab and see a "coming soon" message, you aren't alone. Anthropic didn't have an internal system for measuring exact time on the platform when they began developing Reflect, so precise minute-by-minute tracking is still rolling out.

Setting Your Boundaries

To prevent endless chatting, the dashboard gives you two distinct tools under the Time and focus section. Just keep in mind that you can freely dismiss Claude's nudges when they appear—so actually taking the break is ultimately up to your own willpower.

FeatureHow It WorksCustomization
Break RemindersClaude nudges you to step away after continuous use.Set for every 15, 30, or 45 minutes, or every few hours.
Quiet HoursPuts up a roadblock preventing use during specified times.Set different hours per day (e.g., 5 PM – 8 PM on Mondays).

AI Fluency: Work Smarter, Not Longer

Limiting your screen time is only half the equation; getting more done in the time you do spend is the other.

At the bottom of the Reflect interface, you'll find the AI fluency section. Here, Claude analyzes your unique prompt history and generates tailored recommendations to streamline your workflow.

For instance, if Claude notices you constantly re-explaining the same background context in new chats, it will suggest grouping those prompts using its Projects feature. This prevents you from repeating yourself, helping you get your answers faster so you can log off and go outside.
