“World’s First Robot Lawyer” Get Sued for Practising Law Without License in the US
A plaintiff’s law company Edelson has filed a latest lawsuit against DoNotPay Inc., and described itself as “the world’s first robot lawyer” as it uses artificial intelligence to help clients in court.
The lawsuit claimed that the firm is practicing law without a license. As per a proposed class case filed in state court in San Francisco on 3 March and uploaded on the court’s open website.
A citizen of California, Jonathan Faridian stated that he engaged firm DoNotPay, to get the demand letters, a small claims court filing, and LLC operating paperwork and received “substandard and badly done” output. Edelson filed the lawsuit on Jonathan’s behalf.
