Lenovo’s $700 IdeaPad Vibe Is Ready to Take On the MacBook Neo

Apple’s $699 MacBook Neo shook up the budget laptop market earlier this year by bringing premium aluminum builds and the A18 Pro chip to the masses. But Lenovo isn't letting them have all the fun. Unveiled at IFA 2026, the new Lenovo IdeaPad Vibe is a direct response that brings serious competition to the sub-$700 space by prioritizing personalization, ports, and upgradability.

Design and Personalization: A Splash of Color

Lenovo partnered with the Pantone Color Institute to create seven striking color options for the IdeaPad Vibe, moving far past the standard silver and gray. The lineup includes Chill Blue, Moody Blue, Dreamy Violet, Lowkey Grey, Radiant Coral, Spicy Gold, and Zen Green. In a rare move for this category, buyers can even swap out the keycaps to further customize their setup in contrasting colors.

The chassis feels premium, measuring just 0.59 inches thick—barely thicker than the MacBook Neo. It is available in both 14-inch and 15-inch sizes at the same starting price, with some models sporting an all-metal build similar to Apple's machine.
